I believe that the TRIO programs show public service in
almost every aspect of what they do. As I have explained on previous blogs,
each TRIO program targets a different demographic of student throughout the
country. TRIO Student Support Services for example targets low-income, first-generation
students as well as students with disabilities and provides them with resources
to allow them to succeed at a higher learning institution. Some of the services
provided for students in the program include free tutoring, free printing, counseling
and the ability to check out laptops, smart pens and clickers to absolutely no
cost for the entire semester.
